7ème Aaaargh is an association based in Namur that promotes genre, alternative and independent cinema. The association’s rather ambitious aim is to foster collaboration between the various players in the Belgian film industry by organising a range of activities: workshops, screenings and discussions. But we also wish to promote, support and encourage talented young artists who are eager to express themselves and develop their craft through their passion.
Although cinema forms the backbone of the project, its scope is not limited to the Seventh Art: it extends to everything related to culture and the development of cultural alternatives. Thus, through its activities, the association forges links with local producers, such as brewers, bakeries, cheesemongers and other figures from the arts scene (painters, sculptors, jewellers, etc.), who are showcased at dedicated exhibitions or stalls.
As everyone knows, success – and therefore the realisation of our underlying ambitions – can only come through organising activities and, above all, word of mouth!
7ème Aaaargh complements the existing range of cinema-related activities in the Namur region. It does not compete with existing organisations, as this would ultimately be counterproductive and at odds with its objectives. Indeed, a tentative collaboration has begun with the Grignoux – Caméo – Namur cinema, offering preferential rates for selected screenings.
